Separation Party of Alberta offers it's support to the Western Independence
Party of Saskatchewan .

MELVILLE, SK.

A new force has burst on to the Saskatchewan political scene , one which
promises to finally put an end to that province's estrangement from the
federal government and alienation from the rest of the Confederation. The
Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan (WIP), who believe the welfare
of the people of Saskatchewan would be best served in an Independent Western
Canada, gained official party status only weeks prior to the 2003
Saskatchewan provincial election. As a follow up to their successful
registration drive and election campaign, the WIP held their inaugural
convention from March 12th to the 14th in Melville, a community of 4,500
people east of Regina.

The theme of the Western Independence Party's inaugural convention was
"Share The Vision". In the spirit of this pan-western theme, members of
the executive committee of the Separation Party of Alberta (SPA), which
promotes the secession of the province of Alberta from the Canadian
Confederation, were in attendance to lend their support.

In a show of solidarity between independence-minded residents of Alberta
and Saskatchewan, Bruce Hutton, interim leader of the Separation Party of
Alberta was invited to address the gathering of western separatists,
lending his movement's support to their endeavors.

"We are separate entities with a common goal. We both want to do what is in
the best interest of the people of our respective provinces," stated
Hutton. "We are natural allies against the ongoing economic plundering of the
west perpetrated by Ottawa and Central Canada. We will form strategic
alliances to assist one another to attain our goals."

Former Grande Prairie, Alberta mayor and SPA executive Al Romanchuk
feels the Western Independence Party is a positive force for achieving economic and democratic reform for the people of Saskatchewan.

"For countless years we have pleaded to be let in as equal partners in
Confederation. Our pleas have gone unanswered. We are out and now we
want to stay out. We applaud the capable leadership of Bruce Ritter and
all the members of the Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan and pledge
our unequivocal support."

This meeting occurs as support for both movements is on the rise. The
Separation Party of Alberta, having concluded a series of very successful
town hall meetings across the province of Alberta, has experienced a
groundswell of support amongst Albertans from all walks of life. The
support for a movement that puts Albertans first has been overwhelming, and
this bodes well for the SPA as they move one step closer towards gaining
official party status.

Meanwhile in Saskatchewan, recent surveys have shown that the residents of
Saskatchewan are among the most dissatisfied in Confederation. The most
recent poll on the subject by Ekos research indicated that twenty-three per
cent of Saskatchewanians "would not be too concerned if their province
joined the United States". This is certainly not a vote of confidence in
Confederation from one in four people in the province.
A confident and well-organized Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan
will no doubt put the people of Saskatchewan on the right track towards
independence.

Is it the intend of both the WIP and SPA to push for their respective provinces to leave the Canadian Federation or is it just threats of seceding and the real agenda is to get a better deal for your province? What other policies will you be pushing for as you work towards independence for your provinces? Will you be running candidates in the next federal election? (Bloc West?)

Big Big mistake thinking that Albertans even remotely think or act like separatist's from Quebec. We don't want anything from Canada except to be left alone. You want communism we don't. We don't have a problem telling our elected officials what we think of them privately or publicly right on the street or in their office or in a meeting. The funny thing is it is not the young of Alberta that are pushing this it is the older generation that is pushing the younger generation to wake up. From a province of 3,000,000 over $1,000,000 an hour every hour all year long, year in year out is leaving here to support the commies in Ottawa. Ralph is going to get his butt kicked real bad. We are all just waiting for election day. We are sick of his ass kissing to Ottawa. and his 2 faced lying. And he has managed to PO people accross a wide range of topics. He has lost touch. He is lost and we are going to put him down. I have met him personally and his wife 5 or 6 times and personally he is a good decent guy but it is over for Ralph. And he ihas surrounded himself with Liberals that like spending and they don't listen. The PC's are done here. There will be an Independence candidate in almost every riding in Alberta this time out and Ralph will get a very very rough ride. These guys and gals play hardball it is going to be a lot of fun. Where all all the western alienation deniers? Where are the dismissive detractors of Harper's "the rest of the country want's in" federalism policies for defusing these drastic regional policy movements for change?

Fair weather federalists come on out from under your rocks and tell me now that western alienation isn't real and just awaits a spark to ignite it into full fledged mainstream independence movement. If status quo federalism had any answers or solution these movements couldn't survive let alone be growing .

One more example of federalist myth spinning being oblivious of stark realities....hey I gotta idea...let's just not talk about it and rhen Harper btings it up as a cancer on Canadian confederal health we dismiss him as "not a national leader"....making us look at realities...the very nerve! WLM I was once an ardent federalist my self but no more and not for a long long time. Albertans actually value FREEDOM and LIBERTY much more than money. Contrary to the Liberal spin. In Alberta it has actually become a matter of fact statement a common and accepted fact in everyday conversation. And I come from a generation that had Mare Usque Ad Mare preached at me daily and weekly all through my school days. But as I grew older I also woke up. I am an older cowboy who owns a small 800 acre spread that me and the missus bought with our sweat and tears. We own a small herd of beef. I am still working 70 to 80 hours a week to stay afloat and I don't owe anyone except the remnats of a mortgage. I drive a 1989 Chev pickup I have 2 boys and 2 girls and 3 granchildren . I have older farm equipment all paid for, but needing replacement soon. I help my kids when they need it, and give my kids their beef and support my grandchildrens future university or other big life deals marrige etec by contributing 1 fat beef to each trust account each year. I don't hate Canadian people I just have nothing in common anymore. I am to hard pressed with my responsibilities to my family to give any more money to any bodies GD idea of what I should pay for. The Alberta Seps here are not a worry, but the Aye Ready Boys are starting to c ome ahead I hope Dummie Ralph wakes up soon. Should I have to work and pay until I am 65 or 70 or 75 so dumb asshole in Ottawa is satisfied. Not this cowboy. I have worked out for 38 years off the land for others my friends are passing on and I am still putting back in and these assholes are demanding more and more. And all I have in Ottawa is turncoat Kilgore and Hyperventillating dumb Bitch Annie to speak for me I don't think that will work out for me. I am a man that is not used to being told what to do by some suit. My Great Great and Grand and Father never ever took a hand out from no man myself included. I would sooner go without. In fact in hard time swe would just go and get some of the Queen's beef out of necessity and never made it way of life you understand but a man's families needs if he is worth his salt are always uppermost in his mind and he does not have to be told what should be done. My family has the distinct honor of having homesteaded twice in this country once in Upper Canada and once in Alberta in 1906 well actually I didn't mention Quebec or the later generations in BC well what the heck.. And my friends which are considerable and neighbors and family are all of the same mind and I devote a portion of every waking hour educating young people on this subject of a man's natural and God Given Rights that I learned at my Father's Knee. God Bless that man. I am not some dumb ass University Educated Illerate Liberal. I am a Freeborn Albertan and I am willing and able too still kick some ass. And I will and have pledged my name and time and funds to the cause . I will not back down. I have faced many a NorWester and squat to piss Liberals have to use the Ladies room around here otherwise someredneck will kick their ass. Ralph is a Liberal and he no longer goes out without bodyguards amongst the Free and Brave. What's that tell you. Ralph Klein is a liar. This fall past my good wife and myself went to some of the most beautiful real estate in Alberta Jasper and it was full of bilingual creeps Ottawa rules and costs who have all forgotten that Alberta Taxpayers made a gift of this to the people of Canada. I was PO'd. I told the little Ottawa thingy's male and female that soon we would be booting their ignorant bilingual asses off our land. And we would be taking back the most beautiful real estate in Canada from Ottawa and the UNESCO homosexuals and putting up the DON'T TREAD ON ME flag. It is amazing what a reaction you get when you don't get angry but just state fact. I guess all Albertan's are liars because evryone that I have asked since the illegal bill C-68 was proclaimed by the Colonial office in Ottawa has been tryed to be enforced here in Alberta none of them have submitted except trophy hunters. Come and get'em boys. Except when the Nazi's disarmed the Jews and sent out their underlings and stooges to round up the Jews in the middle of the night we will be waiting. We aren't sheep. We have no respect anymore for so called leaders from afar who break all laws and yet expect us to submit. I am not into submission. Albertans are not into submission. Except to the Almighty Himself the devil take the hind. Soon Albertans will send terms to Ottawa don't be shocked. We don't have 1 man 1 vote and that is the rock bottom bottom line of any so called democracy. If you in the East can't see what you are doing to us you can all go to hell.

Right On rbacon!

My ancesters arrived in Alberta in 1903 as well, escaping from a land that had the same problems that we are having here now.

We are lucky enough to still own the original homestead near Holden and the original log cabin still stands. I go there often to remember where I come from and often ponder what lies ahead.

Go ahead Ottawa, try and take this away from me!

I have an ancestor who was farming near present-day Yorkton, Saskatchewan during the Northwest Rebellion of 1885. His first child was the first white newborn registered, given a birth certificate in York Colony (as Yorkton and area was known back then).

1903 - 1912 .... Free land was offered to the homesteaders who would settle the West. Many poor people from America and overseas came to start their new lives in Alberta.
