EDMONTON - A Bonnyville Mountie is being investigated by the RCMP's professional standards branch after allegedly penning chauvinistic, "terrible" blog postings.
The blog is said to be run by Const. Shawn Kropielniski.
The series of postings, written in a now defunct blog called Krop Talk, detail the constable's hatred for Sunshine girls, drunk drivers, and even the Canadian justice system.
He also opines about the "poor fashion taste" of those "annoying" Bonnyvillians.
The postings are now being sent to Mounties' professional standards branch, said RCMP K-Division spokesman Sgt. Tim Taniguchi.
He said he couldn't speak specifically to the blog, but added the matter is being thoroughly reviewed.
"All employees of the RCMP have the same rights and freedoms of everyone else in society," Taniguichi said.
This isn't the first time the blogging officer's been in hot water.
Kropielniski was charged with assault last fall after a prisoner was allegedly assaulted in a Bonnyville jail cell.
Some of the blog postings are also insulting to women, making reference to some as 'second-class working Whores' and 'skanks'.
On Feb. 1, the writer allegedly blogged about his hatred for policing.
In an opus called "why being a police officer sucks," he grumbles about how tough his job is.
"I am held to a higher standard than anyone else in the community," he writes.
"I go into places that would make you sh-- your pants if you had to enter alone. I do this for $30.00/hr."
The blogger is also critical of Canada's justice system.
Complaining about having to go to court to make a drunk driving charge stick, the blogger calls the accused a "dumba--" and insults the fashion sense of other court-goers.
"After sitting through 4 hours of bulls---, poor fashion taste, and annoying people, it was showtime," the blogger writes.
The constable's supervisor at the Bonnyville RCMP detachment said Tuesday the officer would not be permitted to comment on the matter.
