Catch of the day, 1-5-2013.... The Kids & I did little today besides lots of laundry- muddy paw prints again on the bed. I'm still chilled & shivery and I think it's just the cold. Somehow I missed a message on facebook from Nurse Debbie until 12 hours later. It usually pops a flag up but I didn't see one this time.

Going for hot Chinese was the only ride far enough to thaw me out. And yes, I found that picture of the house with Emily's red leaf scoop in the side yard. The last time seeing it was immeasurably sad- this time? “We sang in the sunshine, we laughed every day. We sang in the sunshine- then she went on her way....”

The trash can is out early and Monday I see the Tooth Fairy. Let's hope his gentler cleaner is back, those two cavities he found can still be “monitored” and nothing new is wrong. I suppose I should start the tattoo process- it would be a change. Maybe I should build a new chopper to go along with it.

It's been another of Emily's “glorious!” days but I've mostly been pissed off at her all day for abusing her body so and ending up leaving me alone in my old age. It was very inconsiderate of you, deary.

We wore each other out. Yeah, she was "that other guy's wife I borrowed for a while...."
Very tall. Very blonde. Very well ( cough! ) built.

Last Time I Saw her Face was a decade ago at Mom's memorial service. My beautiful lover had become an old crone. Then again I'd shrunk to nearly half my size.... Time? Is a cruel taskmaster.

The only thing I'll say in my own defense? She was in the middle of divorcing him when we got together. Many moons later he showed up at her door and she had not the heart to turn him away. That was the end of that, and they are still married.

And one other, smaller thing? I did love her. Yeah. Madly as the first. Don't know any other way to be.

Edit- I edited your reply for clarity. Mine? I'd just add- "no line to cross." We're all adults here- except when we're childish & silly. I got in her drawers after taking her to Western Steer Steakhouse. How's that for a cheap date? MaryAnn's Dead husband sold those franchises.... how's that for ironic? I haven't heard from her in 3 days so I'm trying to get in touch. What was that favorite saying of my Mom's?

"You don't have to be crazy to work here....
...but it helps."

Food for thought?http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/handgun-stopping-power

I did hear from MaryAnn who's busier than a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rockers. House, cats, & business partners. I'm not quite as chilled as I have been. I guess that's progress....

Put nine hours in at the big box Saturday and saw all the prime RedDogHarem® members - Nichole, Samantha, Ashley, Lacee, Megan, Laura, Lachelle and Falon.

The elite club has a dazzling new member I've been getting quite friendly with, the stunning Emma. We spent much of the later evening hanging out but also exchanging distant smiles when not directly talking.

Nichole's mother went out of her way yet again to say hello when they were leaving. hmmm :-k

Catch of the day. 1-6, shiver me timbers edition... Another day of being shivery everywhere except while in the car. A flurry of emails filled me in a little better on MaryAnn's positions with things and she thinks that court date has been changed to the 23rd. Say a good word for her to That Guy up there.

There was no getting around a trip to Tractor Supply for the Kids' food and I needed milk & icecream from Walgreen's, but as I was preparing to leave I noticed a hot pink cable snaking down my road- WTH? It turned out the duplex across the street was having drain problems and Rooter Express was having a go at it.

When I checked out of TS the older lady running the register wanted to know the story of the bandanna and the “Em” tie around it- she's the first person ever to ask....

So I told her I wear it in memory of my late wife and how I had planned to have her wedding ring made into an earring like Clark Gable wore for Lombard. How it had gotten stolen and I recalled how Emily always bound her hair at home in a red or blue bandanna. So I made a snugger with an “Em” and one with an “E” and “I will wear or carry one of her bandannas until the day I die....”

She said “That's sweet,” and I suppose it is- I was surprised how much it still hurts to say those things. I really thought that time had passed.

I took the L street crossover to the foot of the Causeway and went home to my dog-Kids and another email.

Dinner beckons. My lips are still burning from that Chinese takeout last night- maybe a country-fried steak from Grandy's is a better idea.

It's funny, the things you find....

I was looking for my original invitation on FR for people there to join FD.

Didn't find it. It was probably so old it was coded in Hex....

I did find this. Yes, I mean every word:
